Look “behind the seams” at our in-house production departments. Here we will focus on print, dye transfer, and cutting. This is the beginning transformation of your team’s design from a digital art file into a physical garment.
From art & design, approved artwork is sent to print where we use special software to lay out every individual piece into an efficient print layout. Each layout is printed on a large paper roll and then handed off to the transfer department. During transfer, each print roll is matched up with it’s corresponding performance fabric. This white fabric rolls into the transfer press at the exact same time as the paper roll. The are then subjected to high heat which causes the ink on the paper to turn into gas which then fuses onto the fabric in a process called Dye Sublimation. Once the fabric has cooled, the now printed on fabric roll is handed off to the cutting department. We use state-of-the-art automated cutting tables to precision cut each individual piece of the garment. This saves time and limits fabric waste. An employee then assembles the pieces into a bundle in prep for the final finishing touches, sewing and inspection.
